The Colts are Feeling the HEAT

This all started when Jim Caldwell ruined the perfect season during the Jets game by pulling his starters. I mean I can see his line of thinking but this wasn’t just the end of any regular season. It could have been one of the greatest seasons EVER!

Time will tell if it was the right decision, but even if they do go all the way there will still be a blemish. The way I see it, the Colts are in a lose/lose situation. If the Jets win Caldwell will look like a fool for sacrificing NFL history, just to let the same team they could have eliminated come back and beat them.

If they go on to win the Super Bowl, it will be bitter sweet. Everyone will just think about the season that could’ve been. Caldwell’s genius plan will only result in him being remembered as the guy that ruined the perfect season.

The Colts NEED this game, while the other three teams not so much. The Jets are happy to be there, while the Vikings and Saints have made a good run. The Colts were on their way to history so falling short would be have to be considered tragic.

The odds of that happening are pretty good. The Jets hung with the Colts the first time and now they are playing on another level. As Rex Ryan would say, “This is as loose a team as you’ll ever see in an NFC championship game” and it’s true.

Colts fans should worry because their team starkly resembles the Chargers. They can’t run the football so they rely on the pass. That means they’re going to have to throw the ball right at the number one pass defense in the league and that is just dumb. You have to run the ball in order to keep that blitz at bay.

On offense the Jets are simply going to line up knock some helmets together and play smash mouth football. Guess what? That strategy is perfect for beating the Colts, since they have undersized linebackers and defensive line. It also controls the clock and keeps “Commercial Boy” off the field. They are going to get bullied around all day like the freshman scrimmaging the JV.

But let’s get one thing straight. The Jets should not even be playing in this game. The Colts and Bengals played the role of Santa Clause and gave them 2 gifts. Nate Kaeding also donated to the Jets Make a Wish Foundation by giving, not one…not two…but THREE missed field goals. Oh well they won so I’m going to have to cope.

Before I started writing this I thought the Colts would win but as I went on I talked myself out of it. The Jets are going to the Super Bowl but now I’m going to have to hear the J-E-T-S chants in between all the shots Jets fans take at my Giants. Lucky me, so let’s go Colts!
